More stuff! I've been slacking.

Here are more photos! First off, the Pretend Pretenders.

That monkey sure can play.

Here's some more of Cars Can Be Blue.

And now, a change of pace. Here are some party photos from Nathan and Megan's wedding reception. I wish I had some good ones of the amazing green tea cupcakes. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them.

Thanks for tuning in.

New photos!

Here are just a couple I've done at shows recently. I'll try to get more up soon!

Andrew of The Pretend Pretenders:

Two nights ago my band, The Colo(u)r Kittens, played with Cars Can Be Blue.

They were really really good. They tour in a tiny car. It is, in fact, blue.

Hot Lava

Here's a bunch of photos of Hot Lava. Hot Lava, I lava you.

The first set is from Rumors Boutique.

This set is from Toad's Place, where Hot Lava played with Tokyo and Oppenheimer.

If you live in Richmond, either you have seen and heard Hot Lava, or you need to see them. Now.

A nice place to visit.

Here are a few from where Alison and I used to live. I don't miss it, but I do sort of miss the restaurants.

Our laundromat. Many of the machines didn't work. The dryers were full of baked-on gum, and sometimes the little black buttons didn't work, causing them not to start. Once I walked in to find one of the washer drains overflowing soapy water all over the floor. It was close to where we lived, but not as close as the machines in the basement are in our new house.

My bike parked in the little patch of lawn outside. One of Alison's wheels was stolen from out here, probably because some inexperienced thief thought it looked expensive. To the thief, I hope the hit felt really good.

No parking! Parking was pretty bad around there. Usually we could park somewhere on our block, but Alison had a few late nights coming home from work, searching for a spot, parking, and then walking a few blocks home.

Living in a house makes me so happy sometimes.

Hollywood Cemetery

Here are some photos from Hollywood Cemetery that I took months ago. I need to find the time to go back. Being around all those dead people makes me really happy to be alive.

More band photos.

Here are some more band photos I just got together. These were all shot with my Canon A630 over the past week or so.

Accordion Death Squad may be my new favorite band. This is them at The Triple.

From Ho-Ax's last show at the Church of Crystal Light:

Lots of hair and a broken string.

Horrible Axidents killing it with crazy face paint on.

Unicorn Basement pretty much ruled. The room was filled with artificial fog, they had strobe lights, and the guy danced like a madman while wearing some sort of crazy homemade mask.

Abiku with glittery robes and mysterious lights.

It's late. I should definitely get a quicker photo editing program.

Good thing I found it.

I found this spot while I was snooping around with my camera one day, and I found this photo a couple of days ago. This is what made me want to start a photo blog. The way the light falls on this place late in the afternoon is pretty amazing, and I love the way the vegetation seems to have re-claimed the building. Walking into here feels like walking into some sort of secret forgotten garden.

I think I shot this with my Canon A-1, and I'm trying to remember which lens I used.

Tonight at the Church of Crystal Light

Here's one from tonight's show at the Church of Crystal Light on Adams. This band is called Unicorn Basement, and they were pretty amazing. Their fog machine made for some fun lighting effects.

Introduction

I'm Robert, and this blog exists to publish my photos and musings. I'll be posting some old but previously unpublished photos fairly shortly, and new content will be coming soon. Stay tuned!
